Summer Half Term & National Family Week 2013 in St Albans

The Summer Half Term week runs from Mon 27 May to Sun 2 June 2013 and coincides with National Family Week. There's lots to do in and around St Albans for families with children of all ages. Please check event details, availability and prices with venues before you go and remember that pre-booking is often required. For more ideas, visit our children's, days out, museums and attractions and sport and fitness sections. Young people aged 11 to 19 can find activities at Channel Mogo's 'Mogozout' Have fun!

Willows Farm Village

Spring Special - enjoy daily sheep shearing, sheepstakes, horse and pony displays, rabbit racers, puppet shows, storytime and all the usual farm village attractions. New for 2013 is the under-cover farmyard. Fun-filled entertainment, whatever the weather.

Butterfly World

Kids Go Half Price all week with our exclusive voucher and you can also enjoy daily face painting and insect handling along with:

  • Sun - Family Fun Day
  • Mon - Have your cariacature painted (£5)
  • Tue - Become a Butterfly with Herts Inclusive Theatre (£10) and make a felt butterfly (11am-3pm, £5)
  • Wed - Pop Dance workshop (9am-3.30pm, £21), storytelling (10.30 and 2pm, free) and junior photography (12noon, £5)

The Paper Trail

St Albans Abbey

Family Discovery Morning - Feathered Friends. Come and enjoy one of our specially themed Family Discovery Mornings in the school holidays. The morning combines an exciting trail and a fun craft activity. The theme for half term is birds! Meet the many birds which decorate the building and help to create a beautiful collage of birds. Meet in the North Transept. Suitable for ages 3-11. Children must be accompanied by an adult. From 10.00 - 12.30
