About Residents First Weekend

To take advantage of most offers, simply show the RF card available in the brochure at the Tourist Information Centre and you will be able to take advantage of the events and promotions on offer. There are certain events however, for which numbers are strictly limited, so you will need to pick up a voucher from the Residents First Information Point.

Visit local attractions

Many of the District's top attractions will be opening their doors to visitors for free or are offering the opportunity to attend an event. Some of the highlights include the chance to occupy St Albans Museum; an opportunity to climb to the top of The Clock Tower in Market Place; a preview of Butterfly World ahead of its next season's opening ; a chance to see inside St Albans South Signal Box; an opportunity to visit the studios at Radio Verulam and St Albans Talking Newspaper, and a chance to meet the restoration project team at Wheathampstead’s old railway station. The City and District of St Albans Tour Guides will also be hosting guided walks and re-enacting old trials in the 1830s court room at the Town Hall in Market Hall, St Albans.

Have a Residents Feasts

Some of the most popular cafes and restaurants in the District will be offering meal deals over the weekend. For example, Sopwell House is offering a free half bottle of wine with their a la carte lunch, Chez Mumtaj is offering 25% off food and Lussmanns a complimentary glass of Corney & Barrow wine for up to four people. The Residents First leaflet contains full details of these and other meal deals, many of which are subject to limitations for example as to time, place and the need to book ahead.

Enjoy offers from local businesses and sports venues

See the RF brochure for details of special offers at local businesses, arts centres and sports facilities. There are 2-for-1 ticket offers for events at the Alban Arena and Harpenden Public Halls and a host of deals on swimming, badminton, tennis and golf in the Council’s leisure centres around the district.
