The Hertfordshire County Showground just outside Redbourn plays host once again to the County Show. This year's event takes place on the late May bank holiday weekend (28-29 May) and will showcase the very best of the rural side of our beautiful county. There's also children's activities, demonstrations, food and shopping.

Barracudas Activity Day Camps come to St Albans

Barracudas is the UK's No1 children's activity camp, offering peace of mind for working parents during the summer holidays. They offer fun at a fair price and the great option to use childcare vouchers as payment.

The Barracudas St Albans camp at Sandringham School is new for 2016. It offers 80+ fun and exciting activities including sports, arts & crafts, drama, dance and swimming as well as motor sports, archery and fencing. They also have many amazing roaming activities, including a bungee run, dance mats and criss-cross zorbing.

What's more, Barracudas also have Skills Builders, Motor Mania, Swim School, Lab Rats and Upstage, where children can develop their skills in these week-long courses.

Catering for all school-aged children, from 4½ to 16 years old, their standard hours are 8.30am- 5.30pm. These hours can be extended with an Early and Late Club from 8am- 6pm for just £3 per session, keeping your children entertained all day.

Panko restaurant brings taste of the East to St Albans

Panko brings Japanese flavours to St Albans

Local restaurant duo Adam Jones and Chris Evans (owner of HATCH) have recently opened a new and exciting restaurant on Holywell Hill, offering a small and specialist menu of Japanese Katsu.

Adam explains, 'Generally restaurants in Japan specialise in one cuisine and do it really well. We wanted to bring this to St Albans and create the best dishes we could. Katsu, which is the breading of meats and fish, is a staple comfort food found everywhere in Japan - from street food stalls to top class restaurants. We hope that guests will feel welcome, taken care of and leave having enjoyed a simple, delicious and hearty meal.'

While many may have tried the well known Katsu curry, the Panko menu is much more diverse than this hearty favourite. Salads, rice dishes and an addictive burger make for an offering that will satisfy the most complex of family occasions. Not all of the dishes are heavy or filling; the salad and traditional Tonkatsu are both light, refreshing and likely to be popular in the summer months ahead.

Enjoy a free cocktail when you visit Panko

Show this email when you visit Panko to get a free cocktail with any main meal ordered. Offer ends 1st July 2016. Terms and conditions may apply.
