Volunteer for the Summer Reading Challenge

Volunteer for the Summer Reading Challenge

Fancy doing something different with your holidays this year?

Every July and August, libraries across the country fill up with children taking part in the Summer Reading Challenge

Last year, over 21,500 children took part in the Summer Reading Challenge in Hertfordshire libraries. They were supported by over 400 volunteers who talked with them about the books they had been reading and handed out rewards for each stage of the challenge.

Our volunteers are an amazing team, who make a huge contribution to their local communities. They provide wonderful reading role models and the children respond really positively to their enthusiasm.
