Win a family day out at the new Peter Rabbit™ Adventure Playground

We've teamed up with Willows Activity Farm to offer one lucky family the chance to win a day out to meet a very famous rabbit and his friends at the new, one of a kind, Peter Rabbit Adventure Playground.

Peter Rabbit and Lily Bobtail will be hopping to Willows on 2 April, and will be ready to meet visitors as they try out the new playground.

The new area features ten activities themed around the world-famous and much-loved stars of the animated CBeebies series - including the Peter Rabbit Secret Treehouse, built around a 100 year old ash tree, and Benjamin Bunny Treetop Adventures, where children can climb and play.

Find acres of adventure based on your favourite characters including Mrs Tiggy-winkle Kitchen, Jemima Puddle-duck Coop and Jeremy Fisher Musical Pond.
LitFest 16 this March and April

LitFest 16 this April

A packed programme of more than 30 literary events is being presented by Hertfordshire County Council's library service throughout April.

LitFest '16 will kick off with an event at St Albans Library on World Book Day, 3 March, where crime writer David Hewson, who adapted TV's 'The Killing' into a novel, and audiobook narrator Saul Reichlin talk about their collaboration.

This will be followed by events in libraries throughout the county including appearances and talks by authors such as J Paul Henderson and Rowan Coleman, and historians Andrew Houseman and Roger Moorhouse.

There will be a 'Romantic Afternoon Tea' at Hoddesdon Library with authors Jean Fullerton, Janet Gover and Liz Harris, which includes free tea, coffee and cake.

The Ver flows through Verulamium Park along a straight, man-made channel elevated above the bottom of the valley on which it would naturally flow. As a result, it is sluggish, the bed is heavily silted and the surrounding habitat is of poor quality.

The Environment Agency will fund a feasibility study into the scheme and is working with Affinity Water and park owners, St Albans City and District Council. The study will assess what options there are, the like

Secondary School Places Announced for 2016

David Williams, Cabinet Member for Enterprise, Education and Skills, said: 'Moving on to secondary or upper school is an important step and we work extremely hard to make the applications and allocation process smooth and straightforward.
