Easter Holiday Fun

Looking for things to do with the family this Easter holiday?

We've put together a comprehensive list of fun things to do in and around St Albans this Easter for families with children of all ages.

Choose from country fairs, Easter egg hunts, family shows or just play sessions in our parks.  Don't forget that Willows Activity Farm and Butterfly World are both packed with activities for little ones too.

Please check details, availability and prices with the venue before you go and remember that pre-booking is often required. For more ideas, visit our children's, days out, museums and attractions and sport and fitness sections. Have fun!

Helioslough Petition

Rail Freight Petition

Following St Albans City Council's recent failure to stop the go-ahead of the Helioslough rail freight scheme on the former Radlett Airfield, St Albans Councillor Jay Baillie has tabled a petition to try to stop Herts County Council selling the land to the Government.

Tell Ofsted about your kids' school

Do you have children at school in Hertfordshire? If so, Ofsted wants to hear from you.  They've built a new website called Parent View where you can answer a range of questions about your child's school.

If you're choosing a school, Parent View can also help you make an informed choice about the best school for your child.

Catch a glimpse of St Albans' new Museum and Gallery

Renaissance St Albans

Beautiful visuals of the proposed new St Albans museum and art gallery have been released by architects John McAslan and Partners. The London-based firm has worked on many award-winning heritage projects such as the King's Cross Station development.

Earlier in March, the project passed the Heritage Lottery Fund's Stage C Review, a challenging landmark for the scheme heralding the beginning of the project's next phase. This will involve seeking planning permission for some stunning alterations to the old Town Hall and is subject to the approval of English Heritage.

Cllr Annie Brewster, portfolio holder for Heritage, Sport and Leisure at St Albans City and District Council and Trustee of the Museums and Galleries Trust, said: 'This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to add a new jewel in St Albans' crown.'
