There's lots of great music coming your way in St Albans this summer with some great events just around the corner in July:
Childwickbury Arts Fair
There's plenty of great music acts all day Saturday and Sunday at this year's Childwickbury Arts Fair (1-3 Jul 2016). All music is included in the admission price. Bands appearing on the Saturday and Sunday of the three day event include Melodi, Mouth on a Stick, and legendary post-punk singer Lene Lovich (Saturday). See website for full listings. Live music only on Sat 2nd and Sun 3rd Jul.
St Michael's Village Street Folk Evening
On a different note entirely Wed 6 July sees the St Michael's Street Folk Evening. There'll be English, Irish, Scottish and American folk music and dance on the street and in the two pubs, Churchyard and Kingsbury Manor. Free entry. 8-10pm.
The M Festival
The M Festival is 7 years old this year and keeps getting bigger and better with over 30 acts spread across two stages. On this year's line-up are artists from St Albans and further afield who have graced the stages of Glastonbury and the IOW Festival as well as local school choirs and bands. Headline artist will be Tommy T and the Beltones followed by fireworks. Gates open 2.30pm on Sat 9 Jul.
Harpenden Highland Gathering
Harpenden Common plays host to the 2016 Highland Gathering on Sun 10th July where lovers of Caledonian music can get their fill. There will be seven different pipe bands making an appearance from all over the country. There'll also be highland dancing, solo piping, traditional highland games events as well as food and drink and a classic car/motorcycle display also. 10am-5pm.
