Summer's here... almost. So now the sun is supposed to be shining, here are some outdoor things to do you may want to consider:
28 – 29 May: Hertfordshire County Show
The Hertfordshire County Showground just outside Redbourn plays host once again to this year's Hertfordshire County Show. This year's event takes place on the late May bank holiday weekend (28-29 May) and will showcase the very best of the rural side of our beautiful county. There's also children's activities, demonstrations, food and shopping.

Sat 11 June: Harpenden Carnival
The carnival makes its return to Harpenden Common on Sat 11 June from noon. Come and see the Red Devils parachute in and try your hand and all sorts of sports and fun activities. The Theme is Rio so expect music, colour and sport. There will be lots of free things to do and see from face painting to the barrel train as well as a number of paid for activities like an inflatable helter-skelter. There will be food from all over the world and much much more. Free entry.
Sun 12 June: St Albans Half Marathon
Join runners of all shapes and sizes in Verulamium Park on Sun 12 June at 10am for the 35th St Albans Half Marathon. If 13+ miles is too much for you there's also a 5k run (8.50am), a Walking Half Marathon (8.20am), a wheelchair Half Marathon (9.50am) and a kids' 1.5 mile Fun Run (10.10am). 18 – 19 June: The Alban Weekend
The fun just keeps coming with the return of the traditional Alban Weekend. Sat 18 June sees the usual Alban pilgrimage to the Abbey starting at St Peter's Church at 11am. The route passes through the City centre via Chequer St & George Street. On Sun 19 June from midday to 6pm the Alban Street Festival takes over St Peter's Street with a wide range of food and drink stalls, pop-up art studios, a Sports arena, family tent and Minecraft hackathon, all presided over by the dulcet tones of Radio Verulam.
24 June - 3 July: Imagine Watford
Imagine Watford returns to the streets for its 6th spectacular year, with a free two week festival of national and internationally acclaimed street art and performance of the highest quality.
The festival transforms Watford Town Centre into a place of wonder and excitement with its biggest and best line up to date. From enthralling dance performances to breathtaking acrobatics, interactive children’s theatre to Crazy Bikes, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
