Bright Young Things Tuition Centre in St Albans is known for offering academic tuition to students in the area. They specialise in Maths and English for pupils aged 5-12 as well as 11+ preparation for local selective schools and GCSE and A level tuition in the core subjects. Bright Young Things are now expanding their courses with classes and workshops that go beyond the national curriculum and provide children with an allround and engaging education, fostering independent thought and increasing confidence.
The wide range of new classes will range from storytelling, creative writing, language and problem solving to confidence boosting and debating workshops. They will be offered during term time and in the holidays and classes will start from as little as £8/lesson. 'We want to offer children and teenagers an all round education. Our extra-curricular classes target areas such as critical thinking, problem solving and social skills as well as creativity-key areas for development', explained Director Sofia Carlson. 'Our creative writing and storytelling workshops were initially offered in local schools and libraries and we had such a positive response from students and parents that we decided to start running them on a regular basis at our centre.' These classes are now offered every Friday morning (for pre-school children) and on Saturday afternoons.
Bright Young Things have also teamed up with Keystone Inspire and Dr Kathy Weston, an aspirational mentor and education expert, to run a Confidence Boosting Masterclass for students aged 13-16. In this masterclass, Dr Kathy Weston, takes teens through an afternoon journey that encompasses practical, fun exercises designed to help refine their social, conversational and presentation skills. Sofia Carlson said 'the workshop is ideal for teens who are unsure of how to approach social situations and need some guidance, or those who dread doing presentations and talks in front of others at school. Anyone attending will become better equipped to cope with any situation requiring them to be articulate, persuasive or sociable.'
The masterclass is held on Saturday 5th March at 2-5.30pm and tickets for the workshop are now on sale here:
All of the classes mentioned are held at the Bright Young Things Tuition Centre on 35 Ridgmont Road, AL1 3AH, St Albans. For more information about any of the classes contact [email protected] or 01727 260 239.
