Kos Refugee Christmas Appeal

Kos Refugee Christmas Appeal

The Kos Refugee Christmas Appeal is aiming to send 2,000 bags of small gifts and essentials to the refugees in Kos in time for Christmas.
Olivia set up the project following a summer holiday to Kos where she saw the refugee crisis first hand. It was a very desperate situation and she wanted to do something to help as many of the refugees as possible, and this is how the project came about.

You can help the project be a success. You can either volunteer to fill bags for the refugees or donate to help cover the costs of producing the bags and shipping costs.

If you wish to fill a bag, there are 5 categories; newborn, young boy, young girl, teenager and adult. Each bag comes with a guidelines sheet on suggested items for the specific category. Items can be second-hand but underwear must be new and no food items should be included in bags. You can collect the bags and return filled bags to the 2 main collection and drop-off locations:
  • Stevensons School Uniform, Victoria Street, St. Albans, AL1 3XS
  • Harpenden Public Halls, Southdown Road, Harpenden, AL5 1PD
Visit the website for more information:
If you are a local business or organisation that might be interested in fillings bags as a group, please email [email protected] to organise a delivery of bags. Fill them as a team, take a picture altogether with your filled bags, send it to [email protected] to promote on social media and on the website. Also, if you would like to get involved with helping distribute bags, get in touch!

You can also help by donating to the project. All donations go towards covering the costs of producing and providing the bags and the shipping costs of getting filled bags to Kos.
Any donations can be made by going to the crowdfunding page.

If you are a local business or organisation who may be interested in sponsoring the project, please send an email to [email protected] to discuss the options of doing this. It would be greatly appreciated to help reach the target.
