4 - 15 April Play in the Parks A free open access play and physical activity scheme organised by Active St Albans for children aged 3 to 12 including drama games, arts and crafts as well as a variety of physical activity and sport workshops. (Download the leaflet)
4 April Heartwood Forest Enjoy an Easter walk in Heartwood forest, find chocolate treats and help the Woodland Trust. 50p entry
4 April Verulamium Museum Greedy Grendel. Listen to the brilliant tale “ Beowulf”; a heroic story of brave warriors, evil giants and horrible dragons! You can then make an amazing embellished mask of Grendel, the wicked giant. Suitable for 6-11yrs. 10.30am-12.30pm or 2pm-4pm. £6
7 April Verulamium Museum Crafty Capers at Verulamium Museum. Drop in craft activities with an Easter Theme. 3-11 yrs. £1 + Museum entry charge (if applicable).

6-8 April Hawthorne Theatre, Welwyn When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog Toto are whisked away in their house to the Wonderful Land of Oz. They are greeted by the cheerful Munchkins who point them towards the Emerald City and the Wizard himself. Following the Yellow Brick Road, they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. 2 April Old Town Hall, Hemel King Arthur and the Inglewood. Deep in the enchanted forest, where supernatural beings abound, King Arthur is set the ultimate challenge. With an atmospheric medieval setting, beautifully crafted puppets and an important question at its heart, this production is the perfect combination of entertainment and education. 11am/2.30pm £5.50
4-15 April Play in the Parks Play in the Parks is an Easter and summer holiday play scheme for children aged between 3 and 12 years old. Our team of play leaders co-ordinate fun and active sessions in 15 parks across the St Albans District. Children can turn up and join in free of charge. More info (pdf)

23-24 April  Wrest Park St George's Festival. Discover the man behind the myth as you immerse yourself in the story of England at the biggest St George's Day celebration in the country. Gasp as the lances shatter in the medieval joust; feel the earth tremble as the Norman warriors of 1066 march to their arena; marvel as feathers fly in the falconry; and chortle at the cheeky jester. 26 Mar - 6 April Bletchley Park Easter Eggstravaganza. Once again Bletchley Park will be providing fun for the whole family with our Easter Eggstravaganza in partnership with Milton Keynes Suzuki. The whole family can enjoy special activities including a range of craft and spy workshops for all ages, children's guided tours, trails and handling collections. The fabulous 80-year-old model village and railway is a great place to visit for all ages and the annual pass is excellent value.  Open 10am-5pm. More.

29 Mar - 10 Apr Waddesden Manor Mimi's Super Spring. Join Mimi the Mynah, our pretty feathered mascot, and take part in this brilliant spring themed outdoor trail suitable for all the family. Make your way around the grounds hunting for clues. Start at the Activity room at the Stables. How many daffodils can you spot? £3 entry
29 Mar - 15 April Ashridge Estate Our Easter themed activities run from March 29th until April 15th excluding week-ends. Find out which birds you can see at this time of year and learn what colour their eggs are. Make your own bird's nest and fill it with coloured eggs, then join in building a giant nest by adding twigs just like real birds do. 
3 April Dunstable Downs 50 Things Walk. Grab your wellies and join the Rangers for a family walk. Complete some of the '50 things to do before you're 11 3/4' on the way and collect stickers and scrapbooks when you get back. Free!
26 Mar - 17 Apr Paradise Wildlife Park Hop over to Paradise Wildlife Park and get up-close to over 400 exotic wild animals including, Tigers, White Lions, Penguins, Meerkats, Otters, Red Pandas and Monkeys. Enjoy our #fabzoolus daily programme of animal shows, keeper talks and special Easter themed animal feeds (see daily feed timetable below). And whatever the weather we have it covered!
