Watford Colosseum
Watford Colosseum is a 1,309 seat venue in the heart of Watford and is home to the best live music and entertainment outside London. Watford Colosseum was built in 1938 as the Watford Town Hall Assembly Rooms to the design of architect Charles Cowles-Voysey and acoustician Hope Bagenal. Bagenal’s other acoustic projects include the refurbishment of the Royal Albert Hall and the construction of the Royal Festival Hall.

Watford’s premier concert venue is world renowned for its acoustic qualities. Julian Lloyd Webber described Watford Colosseum as “the finest recording venue in the world” and it has been used to record the soundtracks of Lord of the Rings, The Sound of Music and Star Wars. In 1995, Pavarotti came to Watford Colosseum to record Verdi’s Inno delle Nazioni with the Philharmonia Chorus. More recently, recordings from BBC Concert Orchestra have taken place in the auditorium.

  • Thu 17 May - Jason Manford: Muddle Class

    7:30 PM

Phil McIntyre Entertainments, by arrangement with Lisa Thomas Management proudly presents: Jason Manford: Muddle Class He’s back! It’s been a busy few years for Jason since his last smash-hit stand up show but fans of his Absolute Radio show will know this nationally acclaimed comedian hasn’t changed a bit. ‘Muddle Class’ promises to feature a wealth of new material about Jason growing up ‘working class’ then finding, over the years, that part of him has become ‘middle class’ - causing much confusion! Delivered with Jason’s amiable charm and captivating wit, this is a show not to be missed. Jason said: “Somebody said to me on my Facebook fan page, ‘it’s been ages since you’ve toured’. I thought ‘no way, it was last year wasn’t it? Anyway, long story short, they were right, it was years ago! I just got fooled cos I’ve been on tour doing musicals and the last tour is repeated on Dave ja Vu 13 times a day! So I’ve been putting some stuff together, looking at my life and how it’s changed over the years, how the world has changed and how my parents haven’t changed a bit! It’s going to be a great tour and I can’t wait to see you there.” ‘8 out of 10 Cats’ (Channel 4), ‘The Nightly Show’ (ITV1), ‘Sunday Night at the Palladium’ (ITV1), ‘Live at the Apollo’ (BBC One), ‘Have I Got News For You’, (BBC One), QI (BBC Two) and ‘The Royal Variety Performance’ (ITV1) have all helped establish Jason as a nationally known comic.   “Effortlessly entertaining” **** Evening Standard “He’s blessed with the sort of laid-back charm and sharp turn of phrase you can’t manufacture” **** Daily Telegraph Make sure you have a belly full of food before an evening of belly laughs with our amazing street food available in The Grand Lobby ahead of Jason Manford!      Enjoy our delicious hot street food freshly created by our in-house chefs. Due to popular demand, Strictly Come Dancing stars Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec have announced a 46-date UK tour of their smash-hit theatre show Remembering Fred . From the producer of Darcey Bussell’s & Katherine Jenkins’ Viva La Diva, and Natalie Lowe, Jay McGuiness & Louis Smith’s hugely successful 1950’s jukebox dance show Rip It Up, Remembering Fred is a beautiful evening of song and dance that celebrates the very core of what made Hollywood icon Fred Astaire such a legend. Backed by a full supporting cast of dancers and singers, Aljaz and Janette will once again perform classics from the American Songbook, written by the likes of George & Ira Gershwin, Irving Berlin and Cole Porter, and featuring songs such as They Can’t Take That Away From Me, Night & Day, S’Wonderful, Cheek To Cheek, Puttin’ On The Ritz, Let’s Face The Music & Dance, The Way You Look Tonight, Top Hat, White Tie & Tail and many others. Remembering Fred also promises to be a bigger show for 2018. Aljaz said, “In addition to a variety of new songs, new dances, new costumes and a new look, we will be adding a huge LED screen to the production to create a multi-media cinematic experience for the audience. It’s going to be an epic show to choreograph with the screens behind us.” Janette Manrara said, “We had the most wonderful experience choreographing and starring in Remembering Fred in 2017. We were blown away by the audience reaction at every single show and we can’t wait to bring Remembering Fred to more people in 2018. The multi-media aspect is really exciting, creating a Hollywood studio feel to the show. There may also be some vocal surprises, too! Everything is just going to be bigger and better.” Looking ahead to their new tour, Aljaz added, “It’s an honour to celebrate Fred Astaire’s career and to perform all the routines inspired by his genius. Just like Fred, we will again be doing it big, doing it right and doing it with style! We hope you enjoy the shows."  Pre-Show Dining Reserve a table in the Forum Restaurant for pre-show dining before REMEMBERING FRED WITH ALIAJZ AND JANNETTE and enjoy high-quality modern cuisine and exceptional service.
