After being let in at the security gates we drove through beautiful grounds to the restaurant, which looks small, but is an Aladdin's cave. It was a sunny summer evening and so drinks and canapes (this does not do justice to what we ate) outside looking over the lake were a perfect start. In fact this set the tone for the whole evening. We chose the tasting menu and proceeded at a gentle pace through 5 courses as the restaurant gradually filled up. Some of the simplest dishes, such as the terrine and the apple sorbet, were delicious. Based on the food and setting I have to give a 5 star rating. If you go, ask for a window view as not all tables have one. I would go again for a special occasion, but it is definitely a quiet atmosphere so if you want more of a buzz this is not the place for you. [Jul 09]
