The sun was shining one Sunday morning in early March so we decided to have a day out at Woburn. We started with a drive around the safari park - enjoying the fact that the animals had so much room to roam.
Lunch at the main Safari Restaurant was good - plenty of choice, children's meals, bottle warmer and microwave for little ones, daily specials and two-for-one hot drinks (check your bill - the offer was in the main season pocket guide but the restaurant staff weren't aware of it!).
Then the sky darkened and it started hailing. Unfortunately, there wasn't much to occupy us indoors - the shop was full of expensive soft animals (not really our thing), the soft play centre was overcrowded as everyone took shelter and the railway ride was a cold and rather wet experience (open sided carriages).
We weren't able to enjoy the different attractions of the outdoor foot safari area and so our advice would be - check the weather forecast before you go! At £17 for adults and £12 for children (aged 3 and over) in the 'main season', you'll want to make a day of a visit to this well organised and run attraction. [Mar 09]
