The church serves a congregation of around 300 people in the North East of St Albans. Services take place every Sunday at 10.30am and 6.30pm (except August) and last approximately one hour. Coffee and biscuits are provided in the hall after morning worship. Holy Communion takes place during the service on the first Sunday of each month in the morning and occasionally at the evening service. There is a Junior Church for children of all ages during morning worship, [email protected] takes place at 4pm on the second Sunday of each month, an activity based family form of worship, and a Youth Group 6pm.
The?Church?also has a Choir, Bible Study, Day Centre and many other church groups. It supports several Brownie, Guide, Beaver, Cub and Scout groups. For more information on church activities, please see the website.
The Homewood Road URC Parent and Toddler group meets weekly every Thursday from 10-11.30am and from 1.30-3pm (term-time only). Cost £2. Each week we have a variety of toys providing a safe, secure, caring and stimulating environment. This encourages children in a fun way to develop self-confidence helping prepare them for transition to school. Plus each week we have a different imaginative play area and two structured, leader led activities, to help develop fine motor skills with at least one craft activity to take home. Currently the morning session has a waiting list but we have a small availability for the afternoon session.
The Church is used by many community groups, music groups, health and fitness organisations, and charities including various Alzheimer groups, for adults. For children as well as the uniformed groups we have a many dance classes from pre-school upwards. For more information on groups which regularly use the church premises please see the church website.
