Part of the global Transition Network, Transition St Albans is a local voluntary organisation which aims to assist St Albans in reducing its carbon footprint, helping individuals and organisations within the community move beyond dependence on fossil fuels and become resilient to the threats of climate change and peak oil, thereby increasing self-sufficiency. It does this by raising awareness of environmental issues, and coordinating engagement and proactive initiatives at grass-roots, community level.
Our mission is to assist St Albans in reducing its carbon footprint, helping individuals and organisations within the community move beyond dependence on fossil fuels and become resilient to the threats of climate change and peak oil, thereby increasing self-sufficiency.
