I do not have enough fingers for the amount of times I have entered the door(s) of the peahen, but theres always an element of coming home, literally because I almost do. With regular punters and the friendliest and like-minded of bar staff I dont think I have ever left the peahen earlier than I have had to pointing to the reason why I opt to drink, eat and be merry there. So for starters I commend the hard working staff who bend over backwards forwards left and right to tend to their punters every request. Nothing is too much for them to handle, they will road run from the ends of the garden all the way to the kitchen just to fetch you a ramekin of sour cream for your succulant crispy potato wedges with a smile on their face, A pillow for your chair for those lazy afternoons in the summer in the garden, full garden service (Given its the largest bar garden in st albans) I commend the staff of the peahen for their stamina and service. With a new menu to suit every season and taste, the peahen seems to always get it right. If you desire an a la carte, hangover grub or a sunday lunch, nothing is too big fo a request. The peahen has updated its decor of late with electic photography of st albans culture which is ideal for tourists to scan the very essence of st albans culture and delights. I shall be coming back to the peahen for years to come to try out new dishes and sumtious selections of wines and beers. 5 *s!! [Oct 10]
