Two tips for you.
1. Don't attempt to get a table in St Albans on the evening of Mother's Day if you haven't booked.
2. If, like me, you haven't already tried it, give Little Marrakech a whirl.
After wandering aimlessly around town on the evening of Mother's Day, having being turned away from the usual suspects, we passed Little Marrakech. Neither my friend nor I had tried it before, but we spied a free table for 2 so decided to pounce.
And aren't we glad we did. Friendly, welcoming staff. With nice touches like bread, olives, unusual wines (try the 'very popular' Moroccan white, yum) it makes for a really good night out. The decor is fun, the food is tasty (and huge - you can get a doggy bag!) and you don't feel rushed. It won't win any Michelin stars, but it certainly gets our vote for a hearty, warm, welcoming spot. Can't wait to go back. [Mar 12]
