Yummy Waffles!
The Waffle House is always packed at the weekend so I tend to try to go during the week but there's a reason it's always busy! It's in a great location and the waffles are yummy. I can never decide whether to go sweet or savoury but my sweet tooth usually wins ;) [Nov 11]
Good - depending on queue
Beautiful place if you sit outside in good weather. Waffles are fun and aren't bad value. If you're there and it's quiet go for it (it has parking), not sure it's really worth the monster queues that can form. [Sep 11]
Waffle-tastic
How have I lived in St Albans for four years and not got to the Waffle House before today? The queues are a telling sign: people are coming back because they know it's worth it. OK, the waffles are a bit on the pricey side, but they're very tasty, the service is good, and the atmosphere is excellent on a sunny(ish) Summer's day. The Waffle House is sitting on a family-friendly goldmine. [June 11]
Never Been Disappointed
We've been using The Waffle House for years and seen it grow and grow. I don't know how may times I've been there but what I can say is, I've never been disappointed. If you want a tip, try the specials, they're always excellent! [Dec 10]
Very cute and popular but pricey
This is a fab spot and a lovely building. I always find the waffles really pricey but good on them as they are always busy so they do seem to get away with it! [Feb 10]
Start your weekend here
Great waffle stacks and superb coffee - the queues begin from 11.30 onwards so get here early to start your weekend with a real treat. [May 09]
A little bit quirky
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the waffle house and as usual the biggest dilemma was whether to go sweet or savoury. Solved this by one of each - cheese sauce with mushrooms on wholemeal waffle followed by Dutch apple and ice cream. Consistently friendly and efficient service and the waffles are very good indeed, but is it me or are prices creeping up? Worth it but I wouldn't afford this every week. [Jan 09]
A great place to retreat after a walk in the park
The waffle house can accommodate a lot of customers at a time and yet they are friendly and efficient. There is a vast range of delicious toppings for your waffle - sweet and savoury. Banana and ice cream is one of my favourites. The menu works for all ages. We never plan to go there but when we do we always enjoy it. It does what it says on the tin! [Nov 08]
Food lovers' heaven
This is my idea of heaven. Not being a regular waffle eater a trip to the waffle house just off Verulamium Park is a real treat. Perfect for winter, summer, hot or cold - almost every imaginable topping is provided. Savoury, sweet, lovely toppings. Simple or complicated meals are provided for and if you are really up against it time-wise then look no further than a cheeky plain waffle. The symmetrical version of a crepe restaurant. Go there! For a lazy day in the park I would fully recommend it! [Nov 08]
