The best in town

As close as st albans gets to world class. Beautiful smart place with excellent relaxed service. Food is modern, tempting and tasty. Lunchtime set menus are incredible value - worth taking the day off and give it your full attention. [Sep 11]

Great food, great service and good value

Had a really enjoyable meal here midweek when we took advantage of the special deal in Feb. We ended up eating from the fixed menu though which meant it was even better value for money and the food choices were really good so we didn't feel we'd missed out. The atmosphere was relaxed and calm with pre-dinner drinks in the lounge. The service was attentive, but not overbearing and although it's normally somewhere I'd think of for a special occasion, now that I've tried the set menu I'll go back again in the week. Can't speak highly enough of the fabulous food and service at The Lake restaurant at St Michael's manor. From the moment we arrived the attention to detail was first rate and the food was to die for! All topped off with spectacular views over the lake. My wife is already asking when we're going back... [Jan 10]
