Needs to be more relaxing
Food and coffee is good def not a greasy spoon but it is a bit pricey for what you get The menu is essentially the same stuff just piled differently on the plate.. I've been few times, but its never quite delivered that 'chilled' weekend morning feel i was hoping for. [Sep 11]
Good - but stick to the basics
If you have breakfast here.....have the full english or the bacon bap. Great bacon, love the home made baked beans too!! Sadly I have been more adventurous on the last couple of visits and went for a potato rosti which was greasy (putting it mildly) and the french toast (eggy bread), which was not nice either. Plus they had run out of mixed berries so I couldn't have my favourite smoothie!! Coffee could be better quality too. The menu could benefit from being A LOT smaller - stick to the basics because you do them well. [May 11]
Lovely Banana Milkshake
A fab full english breakfast with good sausages and bacon but the best thing was the banana milkshake! Good and extensive breakfast menu, will return as soon as possible. [Feb 10]
winter warmer!
Yet again the breakfast club helped me through a bad hangover, a warm and familier greating from the lovely waiting staff and a little giggle as she knew I was not in a good place. Classic full English with extra black pudding, side of hollondaise and an English te and fresh orange. Thank you Breakfast club, You need to open more for all of us people who need to make it through a sunday of pain!!! [Jan 2010]
Birthday Breakfast
Well, my husband and I had heard of the Breakfast Club and decided we'd go for a Birthday Breakfast for his 30th as a treat. The weather was damp that day but the floorboards were all sticky which was off-putting. When we first arrived there was no one around so we chose a table and sat down which seemed to annoy the lady once she'd realised we were there. I had the blueberry pancakes and my husband had an omlette, we had bacon and bananas too. My blueberry pancakes, bananas and maple cured bacon were fine. The pancakes were a bit tough, more scone-like than ones I've had elsewhere considering they are stated as American style, but everything else was lovely. The tea went cold very quickly but no doubt this is because the doors were open. The reason for the lesser star status awarded is because we kept our jackets on the whole time we were there, as did all the other customers. The other reason I have deducted a second star is the sticky floorboards which is not a great indicator of hygiene which is a shame as it's probably fine. I suggest varnishing the floor? Such a shame how little things can ruin the overall effect, maybe next time we go it'll be different. [Nov 09]

a breath of fresh air
A friend of mine had told me about the breakfast club, to be honest to me I had know idea that it was as brilliant as they had said. I did not really think about a full english being a tasty non-greasy treat, but it was! My sister had the smoked haddock cheesey muffin with a perfectly poached egg. My daughter had the blueberry pancakes with bananas and maple syrup which I finished off! It was a lovely breakfast we all enjoyed it. I would say definitely have the mini piece of brownie with a coffee because it was fantastic! [May 09]
love this place
I wish they would open more branches of this place - preferably one opposite my house. Lovely warm feel inside. Great breakfasts, with home-made organic baked beans, good thick bacon, fresh eggs, meusli, thick toast etc. Provide pencils etc for toddlers. It is a small place though so I do get the impression that they prefer adults only on a sunday morning rather than children everywhere - not sure why I get this impression, but its stuck with me - perhaps because we wouldn't order as much as say 4 adults. Oh well, the best answer is to expand and become even bigger and better! [Mar 09]
Proper afternoon tea
After a fun-packed toddler play session in Clarence Park, we popped into TBC for some much needed tea and cake. We ordered a cream tea for one (with a choice of sweet or savory scone and a selection of jams/onion marmelade), and some carrot and walnut cake. Everything was very tasty (once we'd got some plates to eat it on - service was a little slow despite us being the only customers!). We liked the free newspapers, a box of toys and colouring materials to entertain little ones and the relaxed feel. A good choice for brunch. [Oct 08]
