Reviews for Stockwood Discovery Centre

Great Day Out

Visited Stockwood Park a few weeks ago. We were completely amazed at how much there is to do there. The gardens are beautiful, the children's play area kept us entertained for ages, the transport museum was both interesting and fun - particularly as you can climb aboard some of the exhibits, and there's also another museum that tells you about the local area. To top it all off we had Sunday lunch (carvery). It was reasonably priced (about £7 for adults, or a family of four for £20), delicious and enormous portions. That all this is on our doorstop and free is just fantastic. [Jul 10]

Great day out and it's free!

Just got back from a lovely afternoon out at the Stockwood Discovery Centre - just the other side of Harpenden - and had to put fingers to keyboard to extol its virtues! Stockwood has beautiful gardens and loads of other attractions for all ages - our son especially enjoyed the sound garden and real tractor to climb on. The best part - it's free! It's run by Luton Council with Lottery funding and it is definitely up there with some of the other more expensive local attractions. Throw in a decent cafe/restaurant and plenty of events days and it's well worth a visit. LBC rocks! [Aug 09]
