Reviews for Mumtaj Tandoori Restaurant

Pricey

Mumtaj had long been my very favourite Indian in the local area. The food was amazing, and even though the quality was great, it was affordable. However, my last takeaway had increased so much in price! (This was Friday, 21st January 2011.) At first I thought it was a mistake, then I noticed a new menu in the bag... What used to cost us £17.55 had gone up in price to £21.85! Although the food was lovely, that seems like an extortionate increase in price. We won't be returning anytime soon...we'll try out the new Abbey Spice and return to Chilli Raj. [Jan 11]

Much better than the Chez Mumtaj!

Probably twelve years since I my last visit, and, after an awful experience at their sister restaurant across the road, was a bit suspicious. No need - good curry! Plenty of variety, tasty and non-greasy. Nearly full which is a good sign, as it's a bit off the beaten track. [Apr 10]
