Grafton ward

I was told that most of the patients were moved out during the war and Hill End became a hospital for war casualties. There were Bawdy epitaphs on painted grave stones on walls visible from the staff canteen. Grafton ward was where some of the earliest experiments on burnt pilots (known as andquot; Guinea Pigsandquot;) I was told by Mr. Lewis, a Nursing officer. [Jan 12]
