These awards recognise, publicise and support local businesses in St Albans. The selection and judging process is:
- open public nomination of retailers in six categories
- nominated retailers are sent a window poster and tested by 'a team of mystery shoppers'
- awards committee* shortlists five retailers in each category
- winners chosen by awards committee
