Are you local? If so, the annual St Albans Residents First (RF) weekend brings two days of opportunities to try something new in the city with free entry to local attractions, special events, meal deals and competitions. Visit the RF Information Point at the Town Hall, Market Place on Sat 28 Jan from 9am - 4pm and Sun 29 Jan from 10am - 4pm to collect RF leaflets with full details and special event vouchers (available only on the day of the promotion - limited to two per person per day). About Residents First WeekendTo take advantage of most offers, simply show the leaflet available from the Tourist Information Centre and you will be able to take advantage of the events and promotions on offer. There are certain events however, for which numbers are strictly limited, so you will need to pick up a voucher from the Residents First Information Point. |

Visit local attractionsMany of the District's top attractions will be opening their doors to visitors for free or are offering the opportunity to attend an event. Some of the highlights include a talk on the history of St Albans City Football Club; an opportunity to climb to the top of The Clock Tower in Market Place; a preview of Butterfly World ahead of its next opening in April; a chance to see inside St Albans South Signal Box; an opportunity to visit the studios at Radio Verulam and St Albans Talking Newspaper, and a chance to meet the restoration project team at Wheathampstead’s old railway station. The City and District of St Albans Tour Guides will also be hosting guided walks and re-enacting old trials in the 1830s court room at the Town Hall in Market Hall, St Albans. |

Have a Residents FeastSome of the most popular cafes and restaurants in the District will be offering meal deals over the weekend. For example, Bar Meze is offering 15% off the final bill, Freddie’s Restaurant a free starter with a main course, Thai Rack 20% off the final bill and Lussmanns a glass of Corney & Barrow wine for up to four people. The Residents First leaflet contains full details of these and other meal deals, many of which are subject to limitations for example as to time, place and the need to book ahead. Due to the popularity of the deals prior booking is recommended. |

Enjoy 2-for-1 offers on events and activitiesLeisure Connection is offering deals on many activities. For example, there are great ticket offers for events at the Alban Arena and Harpenden Public Halls and a host of 2-for-1 offers on swimming, badminton, tennis and golf in the Council’s leisure centres around the district. There will also be the opportunity to hear some live music for free as part of the Guerrilla Gigs event organised on behalf of the Council by the SAASH* Arts Development Team |

Enter the Residents First raffleTo be entered in the draw, fill in a Residents’ Questionnaire at the Residents First Information Point in the Town Hall in Market Place, St Albans or at one of the attractions open over the weekend. Prizes include afternoon tea for two at Harpenden House Hotel; dinner for two at the Quality Hotel, St Michael’s Manor or Sopwell House, or a chance to stay in one of five top hotels in the district. |
