Living up to expectations
I love spicy food so this combination of Indian and Thai food was a real treat - it's interesting menu makes you want to go back and try more, which we will definitely do when we get the chance. Service was also good and I don't go back if the service doesn't match the food! [Nov 09]

The best Asian food in a long while
Everything about this venue was good. The room was stylish and clean, the service competent and friendly. The menu contained an array of unusual starters - very different from the usual onion bhajis and vegetable samosas on offer in most high street Indian restaurants. Stuffed tangri (stuffed chicken drumsticks) and the spinach and onion dumpling starters were delicious. The main courses were also interesting, although you could choose from the more familiar 'Favourite Classics' section if you were feeling less adventurous. That often indifferent standard, chicken tikka, was moist, succulent and delicately spiced and my husband - usually a very small eater - finished nearly all of a very generous and delicious portion of braised duck. One of your reviewers had clearly been unlucky - they should try again on a Tuesday night! I can't wait to go back. [Nov 08]

Great ambiance - shame about the food
We rocked up at Asia on Friday night full of great expectations, having heard good reports from friends. Initial impressions were good - the restaurant was modern and stylish inside and the place was packed and had a good feeling to it.
Service was a bit on the slow side, but it was Friday night so I can excuse that, but when our starters turned up we were fairly disappointed. The Thai fish cakes were thin and rubbery and my wife's swordfish starter was overcooked and came with a freezing cold dipping sauce. Not a great start.
When the mains came my wife's was missing from the list and our friend's chicken was overcooked. I fared best with a passable braised lamb dish, but that was about as good as it got. For £30 a head with a couple of half lagers I would expect cuisine of a much higher standard. Next week it's back to the usual curry house! [Nov 08]

Excellent
We knew this would be great as soon as we stepped through the doors. Very friendly service and comfortable surroundings. And the food was superb - a combination of Thai and Indian. The spinach and onion dumplings and the spicy crab and cod cakes were tasty starters, and the braised duck was a lovely main course. [Oct 08]
