Mount Carmel Kindergarten was established in 1985 and is privately owned. It operates from a purpose built traditional Norwegian log cabin in the playing fields of Verulam School. There are four separate activity rooms and a secure outside play area. There are places for up to 50 children aged two (if toilet trained) to five who follow the play-based Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. An inspection by Ofsted in Nov 07 found the overall quality and standards of care and nursery education to be good.
