One of the best

Went last Saturday evening for a celebration dinner. Have to say the service and food were great especially the starters. Try andamp; go soon. [Dec 10]

Delicious!

Went there last night with a couple of friends. Had never even heard of this restaurant before and because it's tucked away in a little alleyway, had never seen it before either! But wow! Food was really delicious! Some of Mains were £16 upwards but the pasta and risotto dishes were much more reasonably priced. Service was efficient but unobtrusive. Will definitely visit again! Bello!

We went here for the first time on my birthday and wished we'd visited sooner! It was perfect for an intimate meal although I imagine (when it's not snowing) it could get busy very quickly. The food was beautifully presented and delicious, the service was professional but exceptionally welcoming and we left feeling completely satisfied! We will definitely be going back! [Jan 10]

Excellent

I really like this restaurant. The food is beautifully presented and delicious. Service is attentive but discreet. Definitely one of the best in St Albans. More 'special occasion' than most - which yes, means it's quite expensive - but worth it. [Oct 09]

Take the road less travelled

We could see why this restaurant has won awards. The dinner menu was a little above mid-range (c. £18 for a main) but it was well worth it - beautifully presented, often in such immaculate constructions that it was almost a shame to knock them down and start eating them. Only 'almost' though - it was all delicious. We chose fettucini with rabbit, whitebait, risotto, scallops and langostini, and polished the lot off. The waiter was softly spoken, charming and attentive. They're close to St Peter Street, but a bit hidden down a little side road. Nip off the beaten track and check them out. [Mar 09]

Dine out with a stylish Italian...

Quite possibly the best Italian restaurant I've eaten at...! A wet Tuesday lunchtime ensured we had the restaurant, and a very attentive (Italian) waiter, to ourselves. But be warned, the restaurant is small, so book ahead at peak times to avoid disappointment. I chose from the reasonably priced set lunchtime menu - 2 courses for £12.95 or 3 for £14.95 - and enjoyed a Tuscan bean salad to start which was packed full of flavour, followed by chicken pieces in a delicious rustic tomato sauce. My fellow diners went off piste and enjoyed langoustine soup followed by seafood linguine and spaghetti with meatballs (a kitchen mix up meant we got five meals for the price of four!) All were superbly executed, delicious and demolished pretty quickly! Service was fairly leisurely, but our waiter was profusely apologetic so we let it slide. One of St Albans' best restaurants.
