Formed in 1984, the Striders support local road and cross-country runners of all abilities. This athletics club meets for training sessions three times weekly by the running track at Westminster Lodge Sports Centre, Holywell Hill. Many members go for a run around local streets and the countryside in small groups according to speed and ability. Members enjoy sociable pub runs and local races, as well as competing in two leagues and cross country championships. They also receive quarterly newsletters, free entry to certain races and discounts at local sports shops. Further details and an application form are available on the website.
