Monkey Music

Monkey Music Monkey Music Monkey Music

Established in 1993, this award-winning, nationally franchised programme brings music to very young children through weekly 30 minute age-specific interactive, entertaining and educational classes. Sessions are small and tailor-made to encourage children to learn with their friends through catchy songs, games and dances.

Classes are imaginatively taught by specialist teachers, many of whom are professional musicians and parents themselves, and all of whom have been criminal record checked and approved by the relevant authorities. All the music - over 300 songs - was specially written and arranged for Monkey Music by well-known composers. CDs are available to take home and enjoy.

Sessions available: Rock ‘n’ roll from 3 months, Heigh ho from 12 months, Jiggety jig 2 & 3 year olds, Ding dong 3 & 4 year olds.

Clases take place at various locations in and around St Albans - see website or contact Tessa Osborn for more information. Monkey Music holiday workshops and birthday parties are also available.

Great fun for little ones

We've been regulars at Monkey Music for more than two years. Classes are age-specific so we've progressed from 'rock and roll' (up to 10 months) through 'heigh ho' (10mths-2 years) to 'jiggety jig' (2-3 years). Every session has a well balanced combination of favourite nursery rhymes and original songs. There's plenty of participation too: singing, playing and movement (from clapping to running around) to engage little ones with short attention spans. Changing themes keep the sessions fresh for parents and carers. Most importantly, it's delivered with real enthusiasm by the session leaders. Our toddler enjoys listening to the CDs at home, joining in with his favourite action songs and coming to 'see monkey' every week. Highly recommended. [Nov 08]
