Formerly The Harrow pub, this has been refubished and reinvented as a champagne, cocktail and wine bar serving tapas style food. Winner of the Bar of the Year Award at the St Albans Food and Drink Festival 2009.
It has its own very loyal fan club as the remarkably similar reviews below show.

Drinks, ok. Food, nope.
Mokoko prides itself on the cocktails, which are good but very pricey. And if you want food, avoid. You'd be better off at the Pizza Express across the street! [Jan 11]

Great caipirinha..
When we arrived at Mokoko just after 9pm on a Tuesday night it was very quiet. However, their inventive - if slightly unusual offer - of 'curry and a cocktail for £10' ensured that this cosy bar gradually got busier. We didn't stay long but we liked the decor, the friendly service and the quality of our cocktails. Recommended. [Apr 09]

Classy retro-chic
We popped into Mokoko for a bite one Saturday lunchtime, and very nice it was too. Stylishly retro wallpaper and fittings give it a cosy feel on a weekend afternoon, though I bet it's kicking on a Friday or Saturday night. We chose from their tapas menu and were pleasantly surprised. Great service too (though to be fair we were the only people in there at the time). And the loo was very clean and as classy as the rest of the joint, which for a bar just off St Peter Street is quite an achievement... [Feb 09]
