Worth a try
Marco's is no longer Marco's (although he's still involved behind the scenes, apparently) -it's now called Espana. Gone is the eclectic decor and the privvy. It's now much more modern (to the extent of being a bit bare, we thought) and has inside loos, hurrah! The menu has been simplified and having chatted to the very amiable new manager Christina, we learned they have a new Spanish chef. The food was good - but portion size andamp; value for money varied vastly per dish. Chorizo seemed decent value for instance, but a slice of tortilla for nigh on £5 felt a bit steep. Enough tapas to keep two hungry people happy, plus 3 glasses of wine was £42. They've only been open 3 weeks so the staff are very new but I have high hopes Espana will get right what Marco's andamp; Analucia before it got wrong. [Jul 10]
