Average - good shop
Carluccio's is somewhat predictable and i'm never that blown away by the food. Menu is good value but you end up loading on pricey extra's such as bread. Service feels corporately soulless, There's better italian in town!
Good wine selection and the shop sells some stuff i've never found anywhere else. [Sep 11]

Five stars for being family friendly
I went to grab a quick lunch after going to the Alban Arena with a friend and 2 toddlers. The place was packed with other mums and toddlers who'd been to the same show, but the food came quickly and in spite of the noise and general seeming chaos everything was great. The staff really are brilliant with the children and patient with hassled parents so well done to them all. [Mar 09]

Great for a family lunch
Haven't been to Carluccio's for a while so we ducked in out of the freezing rain and were instantly cheered by the bright red and orange Christmas decor. We lunched on tasty soups (cauliflower, mushroom) with parma ham-wrapped breadsticks, chunks of parmesan, foccacia and a balsamic vinegar dip on the side. Our toddler enjoyed the quality kids colouring / jigsaw pack, and some tomato penne. Coffee, biccerin (3 mini jugs of espresso, hot chocolate and cream you mix yourself) and tiramisu to share were a slight over-indulgence but we were having such a good time we couldn't resist. confusing dessert but otherwise...
A perfect place to stop on a Monday night when it's not too busy. Recommended dishes include the Penne Giardiniera - penne with courgette chilli and spinach balls - and the Tortelloni. A bit confused by the dessert which involved pouring espresso on ice cream or possibly the other way round but then we're not that classy. [Oct 08]
