By air - direct rail link to St Albans City from Luton and Gatwick airports, bus services from Luton and Heathrow airports
By rail - St Albans has two stations:
- St Albans City is on the Brighton to Bedford line served by First Capital Connect
- St Albans Abbey has a local service to Watford Junction and connecting destinations run by London Midland. See consultation document [pdf] for proposed tram service.
By bus - services run to, from and around St Albans:
- Arriva operates the 300 and 301 (Stevenage-Hemel ), 321 (Watford-Luton Airport) and Green Line (Harlow-Heathrow)
- Metroline operates Route 84 (Potters Bar-New Barnet)
- Uno operates the 601 (Hatfield-Welwyn), 602 (Watford-Hatfield) and 655 (Borehamwood-Hatfield)

Verulam Cycling Club organises cyclosportives, time trials, club runs (every Sunday), trail biking, road races, the annual Ride 4 a Reason and club nights.
St Albans Model Aero Club offers a range of activities from flying R/C sport and scale aircraft to training novice members up to 'A' test level.
Visit the St Albans South Signal Box
The Grade 2 listed signal box has been fully restored and it is open to the public from Easter to Sep on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month from 2-5pm.
Fun for steam train enthusiasts
St Albans branch of the GB Locomotive Club meets monthly from September to May. It arranges exhibitions, railway visits, walks and group train trips.
