The restoration of the cinema on the London Road in St Albans is being led by James Hannaway, CEO of The Rex Cinema.
The new name of the cinema is The Odyssey - referencing both the journey involved in restoring the cinema and local film director Stanley Kubrick's film 2001: A Space Odyssey (which was chosen as St Albans' favourite film in 2009)
